Commonly encountered pathogens (not a comprehensive list);
- Staphylococcus aureus (often MRSA)
- Coagulase-negative Staphylococci
- Enterococcus
- Streptococcus spp.
- Gram-negative bacilli
- Anaerobes (depending on site)
- Candida species (less commonly implicated)
- Atypical Mycobacteria (M. fortuitum, M.chelonae, M. abscessus, M. chimaera)
