- Gynecologic infections (pelvic inflammatory disease, post-partum endometritis)
- Intra-abdominal infections (peritonitis, appendicitis, cholecystitis)
- Skin and skin structure infections (including diabetic foot infections)
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Nosocomial pneumonia
NON-FDA APPROVED USES
- Endocarditis caused by Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonasspp. (usually in combination with aminoglycosides)
- Aspiration pneumonia, lung abscess,empyema
- Ventilator-associated pneumonia
- Neutropenic fever
- Bacteremia caused by Pseudomonas spp. or polymicrobial
- Empiric therapy for variety infections where broad-spectrum agent is needed including sepsis (except for meningitis)
