Onychomycosis
PATHOGENS
- Trichophyton rubrum
- Trichophyton mentagrophytes
- Microsporum spp.
- Epidermophyton floccosum
- Non-dermatophytes (10-20% of cases) including Fusarium, Acremonium, Scopulariopsis, Aspergillus, and yeasts (Candida is reported to be more common in fingernail infections than in toenails.)
