- Pneumonia due to Mycoplasma pneumoniae
- Granuloma inguinale caused by Calymmatobacterium granulomatis
- Lymphogranuloma venereum caused by Chlamydia species
- Psittacosis caused by Chlamydia psittaci
- Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus fever and the rickettsial typhus group, Q fever, rickettsialpox and other tick fevers caused by Rickettsiae
- Relapsing fever due to Borrelia recurrentis
- Chancroid caused by Haemophilus ducreyi
- Cholera caused by Vibrio cholerae (resistance reported)
- Nongonococcal urethritis (caused by Ureaplasma urealyticum or Chlamydia trachomatis)
- Yaws caused by T. pertenue
- Plague due to Yersinia pestis
- Tularemia due to Francisella tularensis
- Campylobacter fetus infections caused by Campylobacter fetus
- Brucellosis due to Brucella species (in conjunction with streptomycin)
- Bartonellosis due to Bartonella bacilliformis
- Mild-moderate Acne vulgaris (age >12, minocycline ER only)
- IV Minocycline is also indicated for the treatment of infections caused by the following Gram-negative bacteria when bacteriologic testing indicates appropriate susceptibility to the drug:
- E. coli
- Enterobacter aerogenes
- Shigella species
- Acinetobacter species
- Respiratory tract infections caused by H. influenzae and S. pneumoniae
- Skin and skin structure infections caused by S. aureus
