  • Pneumonia due to Mycoplasma pneumoniae
  • Granuloma inguinale caused by Calymmatobacterium granulomatis
  • Lymphogranuloma venereum caused by Chlamydia species
  • Psittacosis caused by Chlamydia psittaci
  • Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus fever and the rickettsial typhus group, Q fever, rickettsialpox and other tick fevers caused by Rickettsiae
  • Relapsing fever due to Borrelia recurrentis
  • Chancroid caused by Haemophilus ducreyi
  • Cholera caused by Vibrio cholerae (resistance reported)
  • Nongonococcal urethritis (caused by Ureaplasma urealyticum or Chlamydia trachomatis)
  • Yaws caused by T. pertenue
  • Plague due to Yersinia pestis
  • Tularemia due to Francisella tularensis
  • Campylobacter fetus infections caused by Campylobacter fetus
  • Brucellosis due to Brucella species (in conjunction with streptomycin)
  • Bartonellosis due to Bartonella bacilliformis
  • Mild-moderate Acne vulgaris (age >12, minocycline ER only)
  • IV Minocycline is also indicated for the treatment of infections caused by the following Gram-negative bacteria when bacteriologic testing indicates appropriate susceptibility to the drug:
    • E. coli
    • Enterobacter aerogenes
    • Shigella species
    • Acinetobacter species
    • Respiratory tract infections caused by H. influenzae and S. pneumoniae
    • Skin and skin structure infections caused by S. aureus
