Endometritis
PATHOGENS
- Staphylococcus aureus, including MRSA
- Streptococci (Group A, Group B, others)
- Also, S. pneumoniae
- Enterococcus
- Peptostreptococcus
- Gardnerella vaginalis
- Bacteroides species
- N. gonorrhea (GC) and Chlamydia trachomatous(CT)
- Mycobacterium tuberculosis(rare)
- Most infections are polymicrobial, reflective of vaginal flora.
- In low-resource settings, GC,E. coli,Proteus spp. and S. pneumoniae recovered most frequently.
