PATHOGENS
- Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
- Acute infection (known as acute HIV or primary HIV) -- virus tropism to GALT (GI tract reticuloendothelial cells) with depletion of 50% of CD4 cells - massive CD4 loss in 3 weeks.
