• Treatment of CMV retinitis (IV) in immunocompromised patients.
• Prophylaxis and prevention of CMV disease recurrence in pts with AIDS and solid organ transplant recipients
  • Treatment and prevention of CMV disease in immunocompromised patients; oral valganciclovir is preferred whenever oral therapy is feasible.
  • Use for primary prophylaxis in HIV is FDA approved but not currently recommended; valganciclovir is preferred.
