MICROBIOLOGY

  • DNA virus, also known as "Cowpox," member of the Poxviridae family.
    • Broad host range; multiple strains w/ different virulence.
    • Rarely isolated outside of the laboratory.
  • Often used for recombinant viruses or engineered w/ foreign DNA in research settings.
