PATHOGENS
- Pathogens cause anterior blepharitis only. Posterior blepharitis is caused by meibomian gland dysfunction.
- Staphylococcus species
- Propionibacterium acnes
- Moraxella species
- Herpes simplex virus
- Varicella zoster virus
- Human papilloma virus
- Phthirus pubis
- Demodex folliculorum
