- Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus is a member of the Bunyavirales family, orthonairovirus genus of the family Nairoviridae of RNA viruses.
- Genotypes I, II, III (African)
- Genotype IV (Asian)
- Genotypes V, VI (European)
- The virus is generally in an enzootic cycle between asymptomatic animals and ticks (the vector).
