  • Heartland bandavirus (also known as Heartland virus, HRTV), a tick-transmitted phlebovirus, a member of the Bunyavirales order.
    • Single-stranded RNA virus
    • Similar to SFTS (severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus) seen in China.
  • Vector: Amblyomma americanum (Lone Star tick appears able to transmit; this is the same primary vector for HME).
