FDA

  • Treatment of serious or severe infections caused by susceptible strains of MRSA
  • Initial therapy when MRSA is suspected
  • Oral vancomycin: antibiotic-associated pseudomembranous colitis caused by C. difficile and enterocolitis caused by S. aureus (including MRSA)

NON-FDA APPROVED USES

  • Bone and joint infections, including hardware-associated infections
  • Pneumonia
  • Septicemia
  • Endocarditis due to Gram-positive organisms
  • Skin and skin structure infections
  • Meningitis, CNS shunt infections
