  • Frequent: Escherichia coli (80-85%)
  • Less common but not rare: Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Group B Streptococcus, other Enterobacteriaceae, Enterococcus spp.
  • Uncommon: P. aeruginosa, group D streptococci, Ureaplasma spp., Mycoplasma spp., H. influenzae, M. tuberculosis
  • Chlamydia trachomatis can cause urethritis with dysuria and pyuria but is not associated with cystitis or acute pyelonephritis.
