  • Tinea corporis and tinea cruris are fungal infections of the stratum corneum and terminal hair shaft caused by certain species of dermatophytes (genera Epidermophyton, Microsporum, Trichophyton).
    • Trichophyton rubrum
    • T. mentagrophytes
    • T. tonsurans
    • T. violaceum (Africa, India)
    • Microsporum canis
    • Epidermophyton floccosum
