  • Complicated intra-abdominal infections
  • Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP)
  • Complicated urinary tract infections
  • Complicated skin and skin structure infections, including diabetic foot infections without osteomyelitis
  • Elective colorectal surgical prophylaxis
  • Acute pelvic infections (postpartum, septic abortion, and post-surgical gynecologic infections)
  • Ertapenem is FDA-indicated in pediatrics (3 months-17 yo) for the above indications.

  • Mild-moderate intra-abdominal infections (cholecystitis, cholangitis, diverticulitis, splenic and hepatic abscesses, peritonitis)
