  • Lower respiratory tract infections
    • Including pneumonia and lung abscess
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Intra-abdominal infections
    • Including peritonitis and intra-abdominal abscess (IDSA guidelines: mild-moderate community-acquired infections only)
  • Gynecologic infections
    • Including endometritis, pelvic cellulitis and pelvic inflammatory disease
  • Septicemia caused by S. pneumoniae, S. aureus (MSSA), E. coli, Klebsiella species, and Bacteroides species including B. fragilis (author’s comment: not a first-line agent for anaerobes, should confirm susceptibility)
  • Bone and joint infections (author’s comment: for mild infections only)
  • Skin and skin-structure infections
